Get the country primitive decor look with DIY craft ideas and tutorials. Includes detailed instructions and photos. You can give your creations as gifts, keep them for your own enjoyment or sell them at craft shops or craft fairs and make yourself some extra money to boot!
Do you walk into those awesome country shops and practically drool over all the beautiful crafts and furnishings on display? I know I do! Is your first thought, "I could make that?" If so you have come to the right place.
I have detailed instructions along with photos, tips and techniques to help you get the "prim look" that we all love, many with items you may already have at home or can purchase in a local store for cheap. Or browse yard sales, estate sales, thrift stores etc.
This site aims at getting the primitive/country look and feel with more personalized and unique touches rather than the mass produced items found in country stores.
You can have a beautifully decorated home on a budget. Let's face it, a lot of the items in the craft shops are expensive. (Especially if you want them all!:))
So let's set out to find inspiration and items that can be made over or recycled/upcycled into country and primitive decor. Using basic techniques we can get creative and decorate our homes with a personal touch.
I have been experimenting and researching for ways to get that old country look for less. This website allows me to share what I discover with you. If you have a suggestion for a craft or tutorial, a question or comment, please use the contact form.
It is my goal to inspire you and to get your creative juices flowing. One of the best things about crafting is that you can take any basic idea and add your own creative touch to make it even more personal and meaningful for YOU, fill you with pride and give you a sense of accomplishment.
You will also find thrifty makeovers. I like to browse thrift stores, flea market sales, yard sales etc. to find treasures to re-purpose or up-cycle.
Get ideas to makeover the things you already have in your home and give them an aged flair so they blend in more with the rest of your decor.
New projects are added regularly. To keep up to date on the latest craft additions, bookmark this page and check back often for new crafts being added, or subscribe to the RSS feed to follow [What's New].
I try to put out a newsletter once a quarter (or seasonally) (The Primitive Crafting Gazette) to share the happenings and things that are in the works. You can sign up for the newsletter in the top right corner.
Or, follow on facebook. primitivecrafting1.
